MDS Contracting is a civil engineering practice. We've shifted our focus to solving problems ahead of time — modelling schemes in 3D to catch clashes, avoid cable strikes and capture sites with survey-grade drones — which has saved clients significant time and money. We now engineer the detail that keeps infrastructure schemes on track.
Our story
From groundworks to ground truth.
MDS Contracting was founded in 2018. The early work was site-based civil engineering — setting out and solving problems on site — but the part that consistently saved our clients money wasn't telling them where to dig, it was the engineering and the data behind it.
So we refocused. We built specialist divisions in 3D modelling, UAV aerial drone mapping and non-destructive testing. Today MDS is a data-led survey and engineering practice — and the home of Construction Intelligence, the digital toolset that puts live site data in our clients' hands.

Director and principal engineer. Dean has a BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering from Newcastle University, ICE-accredited — with a career delivering major UK highway schemes and infrastructure projects.
